01 / Open the tin
Lift one roll at a time. Keep the lid sealed between uses to protect the remaining charcoal from humidity.
Charcoal
Lift one roll at a time. Keep the lid sealed between uses to protect the remaining charcoal from humidity.
Use a sealed-flame lighter or a clean ignition tap. Hold the flame to the edge of the roll until a steady glow runs across the surface.
Rest the roll on the mesh of the mabkhar with a tong. Add a small piece of oud once the ember is even.
Cool ash should go to a metal bin only. Reseal the tin between uses. Never store charcoal beside a heat source.
Lamp
Let the lamp cool for at least an hour before opening the cap. The vessel and the wick should be at room temperature.
Use the funnel provided with the lamp. Fill to the line marked on the inside of the vessel; do not overfill.
Allow the wick to absorb scent for twenty minutes before lighting. Lighting a dry wick will scorch it.
Light the wick, leave for two to three minutes, then extinguish the flame and replace the cap. The lamp continues to diffuse without an open flame.
Storage
Charcoal tins
Cool, dry, away from direct sun. Reseal between uses; humidity ruins the burn.
Oud and maamool
Closed tin, room temperature. Do not store next to perfume; oud absorbs ambient scent quickly.
Lamp refills
Upright, capped, away from heat. Refill glass is returnable at any boutique once empty.
Sprays
Upright, capped. Mist on linen and curtains; avoid spraying directly on wood or paper.
